Shiroi Heya (White Room)

Acrylic and Glue on Canvas
24” x 48”
2019
$500

I had a vision of the inside of an airport or office building somewhere with stark white interior surfaces all around, blindingly washed by brilliant sunlight.

Using glue to “draw” the dozens of lines formed by the architectural materials allowed me to rely on subtly varied shades of white to define masses and planes without losing the powerful pull of these “parallel” lines as they converge in the depths of this two-point perspective view.

The photo can’t do it justice.
