This was painted from a vision I had of a vast, shimmering desert, like in the opening scene from Lawrence of Arabia. Except it’s pink.

My favorite B-52's song is Planet Claire. It contains a line “Planet Claire has pink air, all the trees are red. Nobody ever dies there. No one has a head.” Obviously it’s a deeply philosophical and poignant comment on the American experience!
